Reviews
Came to Detroit for a concert and stayed the night in a hostel which gave some food suggestions. They suggested Onassis coney island stating it was the best breakfast around so my daughter and I gave itt a try. We LOVED it!!!!! I had eggs sausage, hash browns and toast and My daughter has Belgium waffles. We both loved the food. The service is wonderful! We will definitely be back next time we come through Detroit!!
Located in the historic Corktown neighborhood of Detroit this is a go-to for me when I'm in the area. Great food, fast service and fair prices. The restaurant is always clean and has counter top service (my favorite) as I'm usually alone and hate taking up a table. Stop by and have a great breakfast (farmer's omelette is awesome) or a Detroit Coney (always good). Cheers!
Onassis knocks it out of the park every single time. Routinely order during the work week here for the office and our orders are typically $70+ and time and time again they never mess up a single thing From our order - which shouldn't be a unique thing but it is. I love the chicken greek salad, the homemade dressing (it's the pink Greek dressing) is delicious (good to dip fries too)! Tried the gyro supreme on Thursday and wasn't surprised that it was mouthwatering. Could use some more sauce but i like ALOT of sauce on my gyros. The staff is always so friendly and provides excellent service with a smile!!
Came in New Year's Eve the crowd was consistent but service was 'Awesome'! Our waitress brought water and took our order immediately (despite the crowd)! Lots of regulars...you can tell b'c everyone knows their names! I posted pictures of the food; steak and eggs/ blueberry pancakes and sausage- huge portions so much I couldn't eat them all! I asked for special add on for my pancakes and they came with no extra cost! The coffee was HoT and perfect! Great family place! Lots of Botha and seating available! Waitress Valerie was Friendly and even gave me the History of Tiger Stadium!
Listen, this is a classic Coney island/diner. You aren't getting some food snobby hipster Edison bulb filled restaurant selling you drinks in toilet cups. This is where you come to get a solid breakfast, coffee and a smile for a less than $6. There isn't much more to say. Bacon, eggs, toast, and coffee. Boom! Happiness. Will always come here.
